Renault may launch Kwid electric in India, all we know so far


Renault: Electric vehicles are being sold in all economy segments in India as people are starting to take an interest in them. Budget vehicles still account for the majority of sales in the Indian market, so Tata Motors debuted the Tiago EV in the sub-Rs 10 lakh price bracket, while still keeping in mind the needs of consumers. Other manufacturers, such as MG and Citroen, may soon introduce affordable electric cars. Amidst all this, there are rumors that Renault India might soon launch the entry-level hatchback Kwid in full electric form, which would be fantastic in terms of looks, features and battery life.


The affordable electric vehicle Renault Kwid Electric, also known as Dacia Spring EV in Europe, may be launched in India in the coming years. The vehicle is sold in China as the Renault City K-ZE.

In terms of looks and features, the Renault Kwid Electric will be very similar to its ICE counterpart; however, some technical and visual modifications may be made to meet the needs of an electric vehicle.


Price and range

With a powerful battery, the next Renault Kwid Electric will have a range of 230 to 305 kilometers on a single charge. The Renault Kwid EV will have a top speed of 125 km/h. With a DC fast charger, this electric vehicle can be charged to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.


In the Indian market, the cost can be less than Rs 10 million.
