China infects 37 million people a day
There is chaos in China because of Corona. Ever since China relaxed its long-standing Zero Covid policy, the number of corona cases has risen. Meanwhile, the Chinese government's top health agency estimates that as many as 37 million people in China could be infected with Covid-19 in one day this week. This number could be the largest corona explosion in the world.
At least 248 million people were likely to be infected with the virus in the first 20 days of December, according to an internal meeting of China's National Health Commission on Wednesday. That's 18 percent of China's population. If the Chinese government's predictions are correct, this rate of infections will break the previous daily record of 4 million infections.
